About Us
With over 20 years of construction experience, Rod grew up in the southern region of Santa Catarina, Brazil. He spent his time working at a local ceramic tile company, enlisting in the army, while studying chemistry at college. He got his first big role as a supervisor at a ceramic tile factory where his mother, father, brother and sister-in-law also worked for many years. With Rod's sharp mind, he solved problems at the factory that even the owners couldn't solve. It made sense why he was quickly promoted to supervisor. At just 19 years old, he built his first two-story house from scratch. From there, his love for home interiors grew. He moved to the United States in the late 96's and continued to gain experience on construction landing projects with companies such as The 22Group and Coastal Construction.
In the early 2000s, he teamed up with his oldest daughter, Shessica, and created Black Gold Contractors. Together they discovered their love for interiors and mastered the art of renovation. Together, they selected the best traders to be part of their dream team. We value relationships and take care of your home. We would like every customer to feel special. We live and breathe renewal. For us, it's not work, it's a lifestyle.

This was our first experience so we did not know what to expect. They walked us through every step of the project and were always available to answer any questions that we would have. The crew was very professional and thourough. After each days work they would leave the rooms spotless. Everyone was friendly and wonderful. I always felt completely at ease leaving them alone in the house to work. Can't wait to use them for our next project!
